Ed Adler Director, Sales

Ed Adler, Director, Sales, joins the SME team with over 10 years in the speakers business. Along with his energy and enthusiasm, Ed brings with him a wealth of experience in the entertainment industry. A native of Boston, Ed got his BA in Psychology and his M.Ed. in Counseling from Boston University. After a brief stint working as an adolescent counselor in the Boston school system, Ed moved to California with no intention of working in the entertainment industry. However, he was soon bit by the entertainment bug and landed a job as an agent at ICM Talent & Literary Agency representing celebrity talent for product endorsements.

Ed went on to become a personal manager for actors including David Caruso, Michael Chiklis, Morris Chestnut any many others. He segued to working at Disney as a Director of Promotions, where his clients included Ocean Spray, Hasbro, Hershey, Frito-Lay, Pepperidge Farm, Welch’s, Sara Lee, Campbell, Duracell, H.J. Heinz, Coca-Cola, Minute Maid Company, Dr. Pepper, Gillette, M&M/Mars, L.L. Bean and Shell Oil Company.

After his time at Disney Ed moved back to Boston and began a new career in the speakers business. Now representing the buyer, rather than the talent, Ed developed new relationships with clients such as American Express, Hilton Hotels, Gartner, Computer Associates, Pepsi, Wells Fargo, University of California-Irvine, State Farm Insurance Company, Tyson Foods, Reebok, American Airlines, AT&T, Planned Parenthood, American Cancer Society, AARP and The American Heart Association.

Ed prides himself on the personalized service he offers his clients. He has booked a wide variety of speakers and entertainment for his clients, among them Neil Armstrong, Walter Cronkite, Newt Gingrich, Robert Reich, Larry Kudlow, Tommy Thompson, Lance Armstrong, Jerry West, Mike Ditka, Jack La Lanne, Tom Clancy, Harry Belafonte, Ben Stein, Deborah Norville, Tavis Smiley, John Cleese, Cheech Marin, Danny Glover, MythBusters, Patti LuPone, Paul Anka and Bill Cosby.

When not servicing clients or researching new speakers and entertainment, Ed enjoys paddle tennis, bike riding and spending time with his wife Judy, a personal chef.
