Fred Meyer Vice President
Fred Meyer has been working in the entertainment field his entire professional life. He began his post college education in the mailroom at the William Morris agency. After spending a year there, Fred’s interest in entertainment became more focused. His fascination with live music led him to jobs with Cellar Door Concerts and Nederlander Concerts. While at Cellar Door, Fred helped produce the Hurricane Andrew Relief concert in South Florida featuring Jimmy Buffett, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Gloria Estefan, Paul Simon & the Bee Gees. While at Nederlander, Fred worked with the biggest acts in the touring business, including Paul McCartney, Barbara Streisand, The Black Crows, Seal, Jimmy Page/Robert Plant, Ringo Starr and Rod Stewart.

After five years with Nederlander, Fred started Fredrock Artist Management representing bands on A&M Records and EMI Music. When the record industry started to collapse, Fred refocused his energy on the dotcom industry going to work for Musicfans.com as the Director of Acquisitions. Fred led Musicfans through a quick and inexpensive expansion helping the company grow from 0 to 3.6 million visitors per month in less than eight months.

After September 11th shocked the economy, Fred decided it was time to go back to doing what he does best, booking talent. A twist of fate led him to meet former William Morris co-worker, Corey Shapoff, CEO of SME, Inc. The two immediately hit it off and Fred became an employee of SME in 2001. He quickly adapted to the world of corporate entertainment. His skills as a negotiator have given him the edge he needs to guide his clients through artist contract negotiations. Fred has worked with a wide array of clients including Pfizer, Ricoh, HP, Thomson West, Best Western, Cendant, Golden Corral, CIBC, CUNA Mutual and Direct Marketing Association. He's booked acts ranging from Maroon 5, Counting Crows, Goo Goo Dolls, Journey, Lance Armstrong, Barenaked Ladies, Steve Wynn and Barbara Walters, to Katie Couric, Jay Leno, David Spade, Dana Carvey, Smashmouth, Richard Branson, Magic Johnson, Trisha Yearwood and the Harlem Globetrotters. Fred has also worked closely with Corey on the Adopt A Minefield benefit concerts featuring Paul McCartney. The SME produced event has raised over $3,500,000 in the past four years.
