Benjamin Zander has served as conductor of the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra since its formation in 1979. He is also on the faculty of the New England Conservatory (NEC), where, in addition to teaching classes, he also conducts the NEC Youth Philharmonic Orchestra. During his more than 30-year tenure as a conductor of the NEC Youth Philharmonic, he has taken the orchestra on many international tours and made several commercial recordings and PBS documentaries.

Along with his partner, psychotherapist Rosamund Zander, Benjamin Zander is the co-author of The Art of Possibility, a book which discusses his insights into transformation and change as the conductor of a symphony orchestra. The book and his prolific conducting career have inspired much of the material in his acclaimed lectures on leadership and the creative process, and have helped to make him in demand around the world as a leadership speaker at such prestigious events as the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
